Danny the Champion of the World, Roald Dahl

This book called Danny, the Champion of the World is written by Roald Dahl.
It is about a boy called Danny, who lived in a caravan with his father, next to a gas station that belonged to them.
Danny really admired his father, but one day, he discovered his secret. Danny’s father went out at night to hunt pheasants. At first, Danny was a bit disappointed, but finally he decided to help him. One day, Danny’s father got into trouble, because he went haunting pheasants at night and he fell into a trap, but he couldn’t get out. As he didn’t come back home, Danny suspected something bad had happened, so he went to the forest to look for his father.
At the end, Danny saved his father from the trap and everything ends up alright.
As I see it, this book was a bit boring but it shows a lot of values, like the loyalty and the love between the father and the son.

The Family and other Animals,

This book written by Gerald Durrell is about his childhood in Greece. He was very interested in nature and he spent the days looking for bugs and observing trees.
His family is a little weird and he writes this book from a hilarious point of view.
This story is set in summer, the writer took lessons during summer, so he explains his relationship with his teacher, who found him extremely curious kid. It’s also about how he met the people of the village.
It’s written in a way that shows you exactly how the trees he sees or the streets he goes through look.
I think it is a very enterteining book, and it seemed familiar to me. It is very easy to read and I recommend it to anyone who has time to read a quiet book and I think grown people would like it best.

The Clan of the Cave Bear, Jean M Auel

The Clan of the Cave Bear is a book that I read when I was seven.
It is about Ayla, a girl who has lost his family in an earthquake during the neardenthales and Cro-Magnon times.
A Clan of Cro-Magnons takes care of her. Iza, the healer of the clan, who is preagnant, takes Ayla to her «place» next to the fire and teaches her how to use and find food and medicines. Creb, the mog-ur(something like a saint, a person who is holy and has the highest social position in the tribe) helps them. Ayla always feels different from the other people of the Clan of the Cave Bear, because she is part of the Neardenthales instead of Cro-Magnons.
I really like this book, Ayla is a really good main character, the way she thinks about their society and their strange habits. She was five when she entered the clan so she had to change all her hapits. I prefer the second book, when Jondolar starts to teach Ayla about the Neardenthales’ behaviour.

The Hobbit

The Hobbit is the prelude of The Lord of the Rings, written by J.R.R. Tolkien. I got this book searching a good book in my house library, I saw it and I decided to reat it cause I also love The lord of the Ring’s trilogy.

The Hobbit is an old novel of the Middle Earth World. The plot contains action, war and mistery. Bilbo Bolson, an inhabitant of The Hill, is going to be involved in the trip of his life to reconquer the old kingdom of the dwarfs with his friend Gandalf, the wizard.

I have read a lot of fantasy books and I can assume that this is the best one. I loved reading this book, which is amazing, awesome I could say.

El Camino, Miguel Delibes

El Camino

Daniel el Mochuelo is an eleven-year-old guy who has to go to the city to study at highschool, but he doesn’t want to leave his village, where he lives. He has to go because his father wants Daniel no to be like him.
The book is about all his memories the night before leaving his village, and he tells us everything, including an important event in his life that makes him grow up earlier.
This book was written by Miguel Delibes and I read it because our Spanish language teacher told us that we had to, but I found that I liked it very much.
I liked it because this book shows how a kid that is supposed to be happy and careless about anything, has to grow up and mature very soon because of some things that happened to him.
I think that if someone read this book, he/she will be surprised because it is a very deep book, but at the same time, it is easy to read and to understand.

This book tells the story of a child who lives in a little village. Daniel, the main character, has grown in a rural culture where people don’t usually have studies, but his father thinks that Daniel must go to the city to study. All the book happens the night when Diel remembers all his life. How he grows up, how the people changed him and a tragic event which will change his thoughts about life.
I really like this book because I can feel Daniel’s feelings and at the end of the book, it transmited me a feeling of peace.

El Camino
This book is about a boy called Daniel, el Mochuelo, who is eleven years old. It’s by an author called Miguel Delibes. I bought this book because we needed for school.
«El Camino» is a novel about the childhood of a boy and the things which happened to his friends and his neighbours. It also describes his acts and how he lived. His father wanted him to go to the city to study at highschool. The night before, Daniel couldn’t sleep and he was thinking about all the things that had happened in his life and the good feelings that he had for his family, friends and neighbours. It shows us the life of an old village in Spain.
I really like this book because it transmits us a lot of values and it helped me to know how my grandparents lived.
